Playing with dramatic bold abstraction, this series of paintings aimed to create objects with depth that blend and fade into the background. Reminiscent of shallow depth of field photography.

This painting is one of 2 in the series that were made to this size (See abstract with Gold 9). The shapes in this painting create a real dramatic tension.

The gold is metallic paint and changes colours depending on the position its observed from. This is contrasted with Indigo and Ultramarine Blues which sit on anthracite grey blending down through a grey/blue fade background.

A big painting this is 1 meter across and the chunky deep panel design sprayed in Indigo and Ultramarine Blue gives it a real presence on the wall.
