A word from the artist

Beauty is something I strive to achieve when painting a wall. Perhaps I am swimming against the tide within the art world in my quest for achieving a pleasing aesthetic, however, beauty for me is a noble goal. If I can put a smile on a face of a passerby with one of my murals then that's a job well done in my eyes. Often as a public artist in the north east I am tasked with reflecting on the industrial heritage of the location. The challenge for me is to combine thoughtful nostalgia with a forward thinking outlook. I aim to highlight the regions proud heritage, without bestowing the notion that all the area's glory is stuck in the past.
